gears of green gables

didn't feel too good this week so here's a couple doodles from one of the most legendary ideas i have heard since coming the to the island. a video game based on gears of war AND anne of green gables. (props to the old telos guys for the idea.)

the first anne looks pretty happy...must've just run through gilbert with her chainsaw gun.

be it ever so humble

peake street's HOME gallery was last night, and it was a blast. there was some really excellent work from local artists and the crowd seemed to really dig it.

you can see my piece on the wall in the back by that nice lady's head.

a bit of the traditional works, including that lamp...

a quick peek at the pencils from the first piece i did for the show...before i ruined it with overzealous inking. the original idea was going to have it done up as an old pulp comic cover. maybe next time.

looking forward to the next show!

out with the old...

when i first came to the island i had done mostly 3d work up until that point. months later, and after painting several thousand sprites, i was asked to do a cover for a pitch that would be used by the head studio out west. they said no characters were to be involved, but i managed to stick in a couple silhouettes. any guesses to what game this was for? : D

long story short, this was my first real 2d piece. i might go back and do version 2 someday soon.

should've used a night light...

peake street studios is having their new show 'home' this saturday! this time around they have over 50 local artists contributing, so it should be legen- wait for it - dary.

i tried playing around with a few different things on this one. this was col-erase and a pentel pocketbrush on an 11x17" illustration board, some quick digital colors, and printed onto cardstock. and this is actually the second image i did...i ended up spotting waaaaaaaaay too many blacks on my first version and ruined it!

be cool

painted scribbles in between a lot of bug fixes. as much as i hate being cold, i really love snow.

scale

with peake street coming up, and the destruction of my old blog, i wanted to post up the picture i made for the previous show.

size matters.
